Manfred Eigen
Manfred Eigen lindi më 9 maj 1927 në Bochum. Është bio- dhe fizikokimist gjerman. Po ashtu u shpërblye me çmimin Nobel.

Ai mori PhD-n në Universitetin e Göttingen dhe u bë drejtor i Institutit Max Planck për Biofizikë Kimike në Göttingen. Ai është doktor nderi i TU Braunschweig. Nga viti 1982 në 1993, Eigen ishte president i German National Merit Foundation.
Në vitin 1967, Eigen u shpërblye, bashkë me Ronald George Wreyford Norrish dhe George Porter, me Çmimin Nobel për Kimi.
Përveç kësaj, emri i Eigenit është i lidhur edhe me teorinë e hipër-rrathëve, lidhjet cikclike të reaksioneve ciklike si një shpjegim për vetorganizimin e sismeve prebiotike, të cilin ai e përshkroi me Peter Schuster në vitin 1977. Eigen është anëtar i Bordit të Sposorëve të The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. Ai themeloi dy kompani, Evotec dhe Direvo.
