Besnik Sulaj was born on January 26, 1969 in Mallakaster, Albania. His first major business venture was in the early 90s in petroleum trading. Besnik Sulaj is married and has two kids.

In the year 2000, Sulaj built Taiwan <ref>{{cite web|title=Kompleksi Taiwan|url=https://kompleksitaiwan.al/index.php/en/|language=English}}</ref> center in the center of Tirana. Covering an area of 10,000m2, Taiwan center consists of high-end restaurants, coffee stores, bowling, and a casino.
===Regency Casino International===
In 2005, Sulaj in partnership with Thanasis Laskaridis was awarded the first casino license through an International Competition by the Albanian government <ref>{{cite web|title=Regency Casino|url=https://regencycasino.al/|language=English}}</ref>.
===Aquadrom===
In May 2007, Besnik Sulaj took over Aquadrom Tirana Complex. The business is located in one of the most attractive areas of Tirana near the artificial lake. Covering an area of 40,000 sq meters, it consists of 6 pools, 4 restaurants, 3 bars, and 5 mini football fields.
===Delvina Gas===
Besnik Sulaj is also the president of “Delvina Gas Company ltd”. In 2016, he bought the exclusive rights for exploration and production of natural gas in Delvina from the texas billionaire Malone Mitchell of Transatlantic Petroleum Ltd (NYSEMKT:TAT). The field covers an area of 200km3 and has certified reserves of 6 billion m3 natural gas.
===Tirana Parking===
In May of 2016, “Taiwan shpk” won the award to build an underground parking lot from the Municipality of Tirana. The parking lot has a capacity of 1500 cars.
===Football Club Dinamo===
Besnik Sulaj has been the president of football club Dinamo Tirana <ref>[[FK Dinamo Tirana]]</ref>[[FK Dinamo Tirana]] <ref>{{cite web|title=FK Dinamo Tirana|url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FK_Dinamo_Tirana}}</ref>, one of the most successful clubs in Albanian football. The club won the championship in 2001-2002, 2007-2008, and 2009-2010. In year 2009, Sulaj hired one of the best coaches in thr world, Zlatko Dalic, who would later go on to lead the Croation national team in the final against France in the 2018 World Cup.
