The first mutual aid society of Albania, the Workers` Society was founded in Shkodra in 1902 by Shtjefën Ingrizi and other workers on their return from jobs in Austria.
It seems to have been the first time of International Workers' Day (also known as May Day - [[1 Maj]]) celebration in 1902 or 1903.
