Gjuha kapadokiane greke
Kapadokishtja, i njohur gjithashtu si Greqishtja Kapadokiane ose Azia e Vogël Greke, është një gjuhë e përzier e folur në Kapadokia (Turqia Qendrore).[1] Gjuha fillimisht u dallua nga grekët mesjetarë të Perandorisë Bizantine pas turmës Seljuq Turk në Betejën e Manzikertit në 1071. Si rezultat i shkëmbimit të popullsisë midis Greqisë dhe Turqisë në vitet 1920, të gjithë grekët kapadokian u detyruan të emigronin në Greqi ku ata u zhvendosën në vende të ndryshme, kryesisht në Greqinë Qendrore dhe Veriore. Kapadokianet u zhvendosën shpejt në gjuhën standarde greke dhe gjuha e tyre mendohej të ishte zhdukur që nga vitet 1960. Në qershor 2005, Mark Janse (Universiteti i Ghent) dhe Dimitris Papazachariou (Universiteti i Patras) zbuluan Cappadocians në Greqinë Qendrore dhe Veriore të cilët ende mund të flasin gjuhën e tyre rrjedhshëm. Shumë prej tyre janë folës të moshës së mesme, të gjeneratës së tretë që marrin një qëndrim shumë pozitiv ndaj gjuhës, në krahasim me prindërit dhe gjyshërit e tyre.[2]
