English: This palace is known as Nawratan. Its in Doisa, a village of historical antiquities about 40 miles south-west of Ranchi in Jharkhand state of India. Raja Ragunath Sahi of Chota Nagpur built the local fort and the palace some time early in the 18th century. Another tradition says that they were built in the time of Raja Durjan Sal. Both the traditions, however, say that the Raja (king) stayed here only for a few years and deserted the place at the instance of Brahman, who declared the site inauspicious and removed to Palkot.
It was built of bricks and had five storeys, each containing nine rooms. The main object of interest in it was the so called treasure house, full of quaint niches and arches, in which the children of the family, and also it said, Raja and Rani, used to play hide and seek.
