Shoqata Amerikane e Psikologjisë

Shoqata Amerikane e Psikologjisë është organizata më e madhe shkencore dhe profesionale e psikologjisë në Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës dhe si e tillë ka rreth 117,500 anëtarë duke përfshirë psikologë, pedagogë, mësimdhënës, mjekë dhe studentë.

Historiku

Shoqata Amerikane e Psikologëve është themeluar në korrik të vitit 1892 në Universitetin Klark, nga një grup prej rreth 30 anëtarëve ndërsa në vitin 1916 kjo organizatë numëronte mbi 300 anëtarë. Presidenti i parë i saj ka qenë psikologu i shquar amerikan Granville Stanley Hall. Gjatë Luftës së Dytë Botërore Shoqata APA u bashkua edhe me një varg organizatash tjera simotra kështu që në vitin 1944 ajo kishte nëntëmbëdhjetë departamente. Nga viti 1960 e deri në vitin 2007 numri i departamenteve u ngrit në 54. Sot ajo është e lidhur me 60 shtete dhe territore si dhe me Shoqatën e Kanadasë.

Publikimet

Shoqata APA publikon revistën e saj zyrtare me titull American Psychologist. Krahas kësaj ajo nxjerr edhe rreth 74 revista të specializuara si p.sh.
