John V. Tolan
John Victor Tolan (lindi më 1959) është një historian i marrëdhënieve fetare dhe kulturore midis qytetërimeve arabe dhe latinishtfolëse të Mesjetës.
Biografia Redakto
Ai lindi në Milwaukee dhe mori një BA në Klasikë nga Yale (1981), një MA (1986) dhe një doktoraturë (1990) në Histori nga Universiteti i Çikagos, dhe një Habilitation à diriger des recherches nga Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales në Paris (2001).
Ai ka dhënë mësim dhe leksione në universitete në Amerikën e Veriut, Evropë, Afrikë dhe Lindjen e Mesme dhe aktualisht është profesor i historisë në Universitetin e Nantes (Francë) dhe drejtor i një programi të madh kërkimor evropian, "RELMIN: Statusi ligjor i pakicave fetare në botën euro-mesdhetare (shekulli V-XV)”.[1]
Anëtar i disa shoqërive të ditura, drejtor i Maison des Sciences Homme Ange Guépin i Nantes dhe koordinator i Institutit të Pluralizmit Fetar dhe Ateizmit, ai është anëtar i zgjedhur i Academia Europaea që nga viti 2013.[2]
Ai punon mbi historinë e rrjetit të pasur të marrëdhënieve në botën mesjetare mesjetare, midis hebrenjve, të krishterëve dhe muslimanëve.[3]
