Karriera

Pas ardhjes në New York fillimisht punësohet si modele. Gjatë punës bie në sy nga regjisori Sydney Pollack i cili e angazhon si debytante në komedinë Tootsie më 1982. Pastaj i fiton role në disa seri të pasuksesshme: Buffalo Bill dhe Sara. Popullarizohet me rolet në filmin horor The fly dhe në komedinë Beetlejuice, ndërsa me filimin The Accidental Tourist (1988) e fiton çmimin Oscar për rol dytësor.
